Overview

What is the Secure Gateway Module?

Many late-model FCA / Stellantis vehicles use a Secure Gateway Module, or SGW, to help protect the vehicle network from unauthorized access. Read-only diagnostics may still be available, but certain secured functions require authentication before the vehicle allows the command to proceed.

1

Secure Vehicle Network

The SGW works as a protected access point between the diagnostic connector and the vehicle communication network.

2

Authenticated User + Tool

AutoAuth verifies the technician, shop account, registered tool, and vehicle access request.

3

Advanced Functions

Once unlocked, supported diagnostic functions can continue through the iSCAN workflow.
